Creating art in a group space is a radical act of resistance and liberation.

It allows us to reclaim our voices, confront the systems that oppress us, and set our emotions into motion. In this creative process, we break free from the constraints placed on us, honor our lived experiences, and reimagine new possibilities for ourselves and our communities.

The Collage for Community group provides a structured, creative space for mental, physical, and spiritual health providers to virtually connect to reflect and process biweekly.

Centered in justice-driven, inclusive practices, this group uses creative modalities like art, movement, and mindfulness to help participants navigate the emotional weight of their work, practice radical self-care, and address the systems of oppression affecting both providers and clients.

Justice-Driven, Inclusive Practices

Virtual Group: Biweekly on Wednesdays
12:05 PM – 12:55 PM

In the spirit of accessibility + collective care, this group is offered at a flat rate of $50 for 50 minutes. If finances are a barrier and you’re having trouble accessing art materials, please reach out for support!

Open to: Therapists, health practitioners, and individuals in the mental health field who also identify as creatives, advocates, or activists. This inclusive space welcomes individuals of all genders and at any stage of their advocacy journey. It is designed for those seeking mutual support, creative expression, and healing amidst the emotional and mental labor of justice work in the field of mental health.

Format: Each session will be virtual, beginning with a creative prompt to help us start the process of making art and engaging in group discussion. Space will be provided to process themes arising in your work with the community, brainstorm ways to support your community, the identity of a therapist in today’s world, and explore various topics relevant to your values and advocacy.

"Art is an act of rebellion, a way to reimagine the world we deserve." - Alok Vaid-Menon (Queer South Asian performance artist and writer)

As an art therapist, my goal is to provide a nurturing and affirming environment where every individual can thrive. Alongside my work as a therapist, I am also a board approved supervisor for counselors and art therapists, and I am drawn to create spaces for other therapists throughout their work in the field. I am here to help you feel seen, valued, and empowered through art making.
