Art therapy can be a great fit for you if:
You struggle to express emotions to others: If you find it hard to verbalize your feelings or experiences, art therapy offers a creative and non-verbal way to communicate. I’ve found that as an art therapist, creating art while processing feelings actually helps clients better express complex emotions, memories, or thoughts that may be difficult to process.
You enjoy being creative or exploring art: Even if you don’t consider yourself an ‘artist’, art therapy encourages self-expression through drawing, painting, collaging, sculpting, or other creative activities. I work often with theater geeks, crafters, music lovers, and performers. If you’re open to exploring artistic methods, art therapy can provide a powerful tool for self-discovery!
You’re dealing with trauma or emotional challenges: Art therapy is often helpful for individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties. Particularly, I’ve found that art therapy is helpful for clients with OCD, or those that feel that they are ‘overthinkers’. The process of creating art can allow you to process these challenges in a safe, supportive environment.
You’re looking for a holistic, meaningful approach: Art therapy integrates emotional, mental, and sometimes even physical healing. If you’re looking for a therapy that incorporates body, mind, and spirit, this could be a good match.
You prefer a non-traditional approach to therapy: If you find traditional talk therapy intimidating or difficult, art therapy offers a different, less conventional approach. The focus isn’t just on talking—it’s about using the art process to understand and work through issues.

As the Outdoor Art Therapist, I believe that outdoor therapy, including walk-and-talk sessions, can be a powerful fit for anyone who feels connected to nature or may benefit from a more relaxed, movement-based setting. The outdoors offers a unique space for healing, as it can provide a sense of freedom, calm, and grounding that traditional indoor settings might not.
As a somatic practitioner, I believe that outdoor therapy is often a great option for individuals who feel more comfortable or open when they’re not sitting face-to-face in a conventional therapy room. It’s also ideal for those who may experience anxiety or discomfort in traditional settings, or who may find it easier to process their thoughts and feelings while in motion.
Walk-and-talk therapy can be especially beneficial for individuals of all ages who are seeking a more dynamic, embodied way to engage with their emotions. It’s often helpful for those who are looking to build a deeper connection with themselves or their surroundings, whether they’re navigating personal growth, stress, or trauma.
I also ensure that every session (whether indoors or outdoors) honors the unique needs, preferences, and lived experiences of each person. My goal is to provide a therapeutic environment that feels inclusive, safe, and empowering, allowing clients to be their authentic selves throughout the healing process.

I work with individuals of all ages, from young children to adults, as each stage of life offers unique opportunities for growth and healing. Here’s how I approach different age groups:
Children (3 and up): For younger children, I involve the parent in the therapy space for the entire session to foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
Children (5-8): For children in this age group, the parent may join for part of the session, allowing for a balance between parent involvement and the child’s individual expression.
Pre-teens and Teens: With pre-teens and teens, I meet periodically with parents outside of sessions to provide updates, guidance, and parenting resources to support the therapeutic process.
Adults: For adults, I typically offer weekly or biweekly art therapy sessions focused on personal growth, processing emotions, and achieving therapeutic goals.

This is such an important question! I believe in keeping parents closely informed and involved in the therapy process. To support you in understanding your child’s progress, I offer monthly parent consultation calls as part of my services. These calls allow us to discuss your child’s growth, any concerns, and the strategies we’re using in therapy.
Additionally, I provide weekly updates on the interventions we’re using during sessions, along with helpful resources you can incorporate at home. This ensures you’re equipped to support your child outside of therapy and stay actively engaged in their progress.
I also create an environment where your child’s feelings and experiences are acknowledged, and they are encouraged to share how they are feeling about therapy. By checking in regularly with both you and your child, we can ensure that therapy is moving forward in a way that’s meaningful and supportive for their unique needs.

I am currently an out-of-network provider, meaning I don’t directly accept insurance. However, many clients are able to submit their receipts for reimbursement through their insurance plans, depending on their coverage. I recommend checking with your insurance company to see if they provide out-of-network reimbursement for therapy services.
If you’d like, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement!
-
A superbill is a detailed receipt that I provide after each therapy session. It includes all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company in order to request potential reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. I provide superbills on a monthly basis, so you will receive one at the end of each month for all the sessions you’ve attended. To find out more about the reimbursement process and if your insurance will cover the sessions, the best approach is to contact your insurance company directly. They can give you detailed information about how to submit the superbill, what is covered, and any specific requirements for reimbursement.
Here are some simple, clear questions to ask your insurance company about reimbursement for therapy services:"Do you cover out-of-network therapy services?"
"What is the process for submitting a superbill for reimbursement?"
"What information do I need to include when submitting the superbill?"
"How much will you reimburse me for out-of-network therapy sessions?"
"Are there any specific codes or forms I need to use when submitting for reimbursement?"
"Is there a limit to how many therapy sessions you will reimburse per year?"
"How long does it typically take to process a reimbursement request?"
"Do I need pre-authorization for therapy services?"
"Are there any specific criteria or conditions for reimbursement for mental health services?"
"What should I do if my reimbursement request is denied?"

I do offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions for clients in need and for clinicians seeking clinical supervision hours. These slots are available on a case-by-case basis, and I encourage you to reach out if you are interested in discussing this option further!
I set my fees with great care, as I believe the boundaries, policies, and rates I establish are a vital part of my own self-care and self-respect. In order to serve my clients to the best of my ability, it’s important that I also take care of my family, myself, and the values that guide my practice. This ensures that I can meet each client with the energy, focus, and dedication they deserve. -
I specialize in working with a variety of clients, including:
Overthinkers (OCD/Anxiety): I help individuals manage the constant mental chatter, intrusive thoughts, and worries that come with anxiety and OCD, providing tools for calming the mind and gaining control over spiraling thoughts.
Daydreamers (Autism + ADHD): I work with individuals who may feel disconnected from the present moment, helping them manage attention challenges and sensory overload while embracing their creative, unique ways of experiencing the world.
Nocturnals (Sleep Disorders): I support clients struggling with sleep issues, whether it’s insomnia, night terrors, or general sleep disruption, helping them find peace and balance to improve their rest and overall well-being.
Identity Navigators (LGBTQIA+ Identity, Transgender/Gender Nonconforming, Nonbinary): I work with clients navigating identity exploration and expression, providing a safe, affirming space for understanding and embracing their gender and sexual identity.
I specialize in these four areas because they often intersect in profound ways. Many individuals who struggle with anxiety or OCD also experience challenges with attention, sensory processing, or sleep. Likewise, those who are neurodivergent—such as individuals with ADHD or autism—frequently navigate overlapping concerns with anxiety, identity, and restlessness. Sleep disorders are deeply tied to mental health and neurodiversity, affecting emotional regulation and cognitive clarity. Additionally, identity exploration can be both exciting and anxiety-inducing, particularly for those navigating societal pressures or personal self-discovery. By working across these areas, I provide holistic support that acknowledges the complexity of each individual, helping clients integrate their experiences rather than feeling like they exist in isolated categories.

I am a licensed art therapist and mental health counselor, with board-approved supervisor credentials. My training includes specialized experience in:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): I help clients accept difficult emotions and commit to behaviors that align with their values, fostering psychological flexibility and well-being.
Parts-Work and Inner Child Work: I assist clients in healing past emotional wounds by reconnecting with and nurturing different parts of themselves, including their inner child, to foster wholeness and healing.
Somatic Experiencing: I focus on helping clients release trauma stored in the body, using body-centered techniques to process and heal from past traumatic experiences.
Grief Counseling: I help individuals process and heal from loss, providing support through the complex emotional journey of grief.
