Therapy for Creative Overthinkers in Maryland
Mental health support for those who think, feel, and see the world differently
Affirming care for neurodiverse, transgender, nonbinary, and queer families in Lutherville-Timonium and via telehealth across Maryland
OCD and insomnia aren’t what you see in the movies. They’re not just about being extra tidy or having trouble falling asleep. OCD can show up as relentless mental loops, checking, or rituals that feel impossible to stop, while insomnia often means a body stuck in overdrive, even when you’re beyond exhausted. For kids and adults alike, these struggles can be isolating, confusing, and deeply frustrating.
As a licensed art therapist, I help children, teens, and adults across Maryland navigate big feelings and even bigger worries. Whether it’s OCD, anxiety, or a mind that won’t slow down, I support clients in finding relief from overthinking, reconnecting with their creativity, and rediscovering who they are beneath all the noise.

Meet Kristy Leone — Art Therapist for Overthinkers with OCD and Sleep Issues in Maryland
I’m Kristy Leone, LCPC, LCPAT, ATR-BC (they/she), a non-binary, neuroaffirming licensed art therapist and mental health walk-and-talk counselor based in Maryland. I specialize in supporting people navigating OCD, anxiety, sleep challenges, and identity exploration.
I came into this field hoping to provide a space that doesn’t feel clinical or cold. Therapy can be creative, collaborative, and even liberating! Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after a break, we’ll move at your pace, or your child’s pace, with space for curiosity, rest, and small, meaningful shifts.
My approach weaves together art therapy, somatic practices, and nature-based healing to support deeper emotional regulation, nervous system grounding, and creative expression. Whether we meet outdoors in Baltimore, in my Towson office, or virtually across Maryland, I offer a calm, affirming space to help you reconnect with who you are — beyond the overthinking or compulsive behaviors.

Therapy for Children, Teens, and Adults
I offer a blend of art therapy, somatic tools, acceptance-and-commitment therapy (ACT) and nature-based practices designed to help overthinkers find clarity, rest, and a renewed sense of self. Whether you're an adult navigating OCD, anxious thoughts, or identity questions, or want more tools to better support your child, our work will be creative, compassionate, and grounded in who you are!
Art Therapy
A creative approach for to externalize looping thoughts and access insight through imagery, not just language. It can reduce anxiety, support nervous system regulation, and give form to feelings that are hard to name — especially helpful for OCD, trauma, and identity work.
Walk-and-Talk Therapy
Outdoor sessions in Maryland engage the body and the environment in healing. Movement can reduce rumination, regulate the nervous system, and make it easier to open up — especially for clients who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy, overwhelmed by stillness, or struggling to unwind at night.
Acceptance-and-Commitment Therapy
Researched approach for OCD and insomnia. It helps clients shift their relationship to thoughts and anxiety by teaching mindfulness, values-based action, and psychological flexibility — key tools for those caught in perfectionism or nighttime spirals.

"Kristy does an amazing job of providing supervisions that are valuable for both art therapists and counselors. I never considered myself an artist, but with Kristy' guidance, I was able to connect with my own creative strengths. I am now able to build rapport and connect with clients in new creative ways. "

“After working with Kristy for a few months, I learned so much more than I originally intended and even though I never considered myself a creative person prior to this group, my understanding of creativity expanded week by week. I came out of each session with an open mind, a curiosity, and new ways to be creative in my sessions. I would absolutely recommend studio supervision with Kristy for any therapists, regardless of whether you are an art therapist or not.”
